Doctors

While Burwood Health is a brand new offering, our team of five doctors have many years of experience and a long association working with the local community. We have joined forces to create an independent medical centre under one roof!

We recommend that you have a primary doctor for ongoing issues. However, if you have an urgent problem and are unable to get an appointment with your regular doctor, one of the other GPs will be happy to see you.

I am originally from the UK, graduating from St George's Hospital medical school, London in 1992. After that, I spent two years working in Christchurch Hospital, where I met my wife, a New Zealander. We moved back to the UK for 8 years and I did my general practice training there before moving back to Christchurch in 2003 with our three young children. I have been working at Parklands Medical centre since then and I am very excited about our move into a modern medical centre.

I love the variety of my work. I always strive to give the best of my ability and look after you and your family's needs.

Outside of work I enjoy exploring the wonderful country we live in.

I was born and raised in Christchurch. I am an Otago graduate, and completed my GP training in Christchurch. I have been working at Parklands Medical centre for over 20 years , and have been through a lot with my patients, developing some wonderful longstanding relationships.
I really enjoy my work as a GP and am interested in all aspects of medicine, particularly women's health and menopause.
Outside of work, I'm a Mum to four sons, including 18 year old triplets. I love to enjoy our wonderful outdoor environment, mountainbiking, tramping and walking in the Port Hills. I am a keen gardener and love to cook and read.

I am very much a local, having grown up in Mairehau and attended Mairehau Primary School. I graduated from Otago University in 1988, and have worked as a GP since 1994. I am excited about joining Burwood Health, having worked at QE2 Medical Centre for 25 years.

My connection with the area goes back a very long way to when my ancestors developed many of the roads and land in the North Beach/ New Brighton area. I enjoy all facets of General Practice and the variety it provides. I have recently completed a course in skin cancer medicine, and I'm also particularly interested in the new field of genomics and its impact on personalised healthcare.

Outside of work, I love music, my pets, and researching my genealogy.

I grew up in Dunedin and went to medical school in Otago. I travelled around for several years and then settled in Christchurch in 2003 with my husband. I have worked part time in general practice in Christchurch since 2004 while raising my two daughters.

In my work I enjoy seeing the wide variety of people and problems that come through the door.

Outside of work I enjoy my family, cycling, reading, walking the dog and (sometimes to my husband's distress), creative DIY.
