We recommend that you have a primary doctor for ongoing issues.

However, if you have an urgent problem and are unable to get an appointment with your regular doctor, one of the other GP’s will be able to see you.

All requests for urgent appointments will be triaged by our clinical team.

Dr Tim Story
General Practitioner

Dr Tim Story completed his medical training in the UK, where he graduated from St George's Hospital Medical School, London in 1992.

He then travelled to New Zealand, where he worked at Christchurch Hospital for two years, and is where he met his wife, a New Zealander.

Dr Story and his family lived in the UK again for 8 years, where he completed his general practice training, before moving back to Christchurch in 2003 with three young children.

Upon returning to Christchurch, Dr Story joined Parklands Medical where he has enjoyed the variety of work and where he strives to use the best of his abilities to look after you and your family's needs.

When not at work, Dr Tim Story enjoys travelling around New Zealand and exploring "the wonderful country we live in"

Dr Rebecca Langley
General Practitioner

Dr Rebecca Langley was born and raised in Christchurch. She is an Otago graduate and completed her GP training in Christchurch.

Dr Langley worked at Parklands Medical Centre for over 20 years where she has been through a lot with her patients, developing some wonderful longstanding relationships, which are continuing at Burwood Health.

Dr Langley enjoys her work as a GP and is interested in all aspects of medicine, particularly women's health and menopause.

Outside of work, Dr Langley is a mum to four grown-up sons, including triplets and enjoys spending time in the outdoors. She enjoys mountain biking, tramping and walking in the Port Hills, but also some downtime at home. She is a keen gardener, cook and loves to read.

Dr Intan Md Tahir
General Practitioner

Dr Intan Md Tahir was born in Malaysia before coming to New Zealand to undertake a degree in Medicine at Otago University, where she graduated in 2012. She has also worked as a resident at Christchurch Hospital while enjoying all that the city has to offer.

Dr Tahir spent two (2) years living in Australia, where she worked at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Adelaide, The Alfred Hospital in Melbourne and the Royal Hobart Hospital, Tasmania.

She returned to Christchurch in 2019 and completed her GP Fellowship (FRNZCGP) and has a special interest in Women's Health and Travel Medicine, leading her to complete a Post Graduate Certificate in both areas.

Dr Intan is now a member of the NZ College of Sexual and Reproductive Health and is qualified to complete the insertion and removal of Long-Acting Reversible Contraception (LARC).

Dr Tahir believes that health is a partnership and strives to achieve the best for her patients.

Outside of work, Dr Intan Md Tahir enjoys baking, tramping and spending time with her husband and young children.

Dr Gort Stephan
General Practitioner

Dr Gort Stephan was born and raised in Germany, and completed his medical training in 1998.

In 2000, Dr Stephan moved to Christchurch, where he undertook postgraduate training and became a fellow of the New Zealand College of GP's in 2007. For two (2) years, Dr Stephan worked in Sydney, before returning to Christchurch. He has spent the past 10 years, from 2010 to 2020, working as a locum at Ferrymead Medical Centre, before joining Burwood Health.

He enjoys assisting patients with the wide variety of medical problems that general practice brings and assisting them to achieve their best possible health.

When not working, Dr Stephan enjoys spending time outdoors running, ski touring, tramping and canyoning. He also enjoys to travel both New Zealand and the world.

Dr Shirin Robinson
General Practitioner

Dr Shirin Robinson studied in Otago and completed her medical degree in 1992 and completed her General Practitioner training in the United Kingdom in 1999.

Over the years, Dr Robinson has worked in a range of hospital and GP clinics both in the UK and in New Zealand. She enjoys the diversity of her role and how it is a privilege to be a part of an individual or family’s health journey.

Shirin prides herself on being a caring and compassionate doctor who will continually work alongside her patients to achieve their overall health goals.

Dr Shirin Robinson is interested in skin excisions and gynaecological and family planning procedures. Dr Robinson also has an interest in transgender health.

When not working at Burwood Health, Shirin enjoys spending time with her family, including her three children, who are all undertaking various studies and work around Aotearoa, her husband and her two dogs. She also enjoys participating in sports and being outdoors.

Dr Sarah McFadden
General Practitioner

Dr Sarah McFadden was born in Perth, Western Australia and moved to Christchurch when she was 2 years old with her family.

She undertook her studies in Dunedin for 7 years where she has completed medical school and a Bachelor of Medical Science with Honours degree. Sarah has also completed a Post-Graduate Paediatric Diploma from Auckland University.

Since completing her degrees, Sarah has worked in a variety of specialties in Tauranga before returning to Australia where she worked and gained experience in Emergency Departments.

Dr McFadden is interested in all areas of general practice work, however, has a keen interest in Paediatrics and women’s health.

Dr Kenji Takahashi
General Practitioner - Registrar

Dr Kenji Takahashi was born and raised in Japan and moved to New Zealand in 2003 for secondary school.

He undertook his studies at the University of Otago and graduated in 2013, before spending 2014 and 2015 working in Singapore. In 2015, Dr Takahashi returned to New Zealand where he worked at the Taranaki Base Hospital before relocating to Christchurch in 2020.

Prior to becoming a General Practice Registrar, Dr Takahashi spent 7 years working as an adult internal medicine registrar. He has a special interest in internal medicine including infectious diseases, endocrinology, cardiology and neurology. As a GP, Dr Kenji Takahashi has a keen interest in palliative care and ADHD management.

When not working at Burwood Health, Dr Takahashi enjoys spending time painting, doing photography, travelling, hiking, bouldering and weigh lifting.
