Kia ora, I’m Jayne. Originally from Liverpool, UK, I moved to Aotearoa 19 years ago, bringing with me a deep commitment to supporting mental health and wellbeing. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working alongside individuals in both the UK and New Zealand, helping them navigate life’s challenges with compassion and practical strategies.

My Approach: Compassionate, Collaborative, and Client-Centered

I believe that every person is the expert of their own life. In our work together, I aim to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore your experiences and identify meaningful changes. Utilising Focused Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (FACT), I support individuals in developing effective coping strategies and setting realistic wellbeing goals.
My Background and Training
  • BA (Hons) in Social Work
  • Certificate in Counselling Skills
  • Postgraduate papers in Focused Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
  • Specialist training in Te Tumu Waiora (primary mental health model)
These qualifications, combined with years of experience in therapeutic settings, inform my holistic approach to health improvement.

How I Can Support You

As part of a general practice team, I offer fully funded 20–30 minute sessions to individuals of all ages facing health-related challenges impacting daily function and wellbeing. Together, we can develop a tailored behavioural change plan that addresses the issues most important to you.
I support a wide range of concerns, including:
  • Sleep disturbances
  • Stress management
  • Relationship dynamics
  • Addictions
  • Physical health challenges
  • Grief and loss

Outside of Work

When I’m not supporting others, I enjoy connecting with family and spending time outdoors. I’m an avid cyclist and have completed several bike trails across New Zealand. I also share my home with two dogs and a cat, who keep me active and grounded.

Availability

I work Mondays and Wednesday from 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM. If you’re ready to take the next step toward improving your health and wellbeing, I’d be honoured to support you on your journey.
If you’d like to learn more or schedule an appointment, please reach out to the general practice team. I look forward to the opportunity to work together.
