Travelling overseas can be a fun and exciting time.  New adventures, family memories and so many experiences, but it is important to make sure that you are well prepared for your journey.

 

Burwood Health offers a range of travel vaccinations, depending on the country(s) that you will be travelling to.

PLEASE BE AWARE WE DO NOT OFFER YELLOW FEVER VACCINATIONS

 

PLEASE BE AWARE THAT WE REQUIRE AT LEAST TWO WEEKS TO ORGANISE AND SUPPLY VACCINATIONS

 

BEFORE YOU TRAVEL

Make sure you visit the Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Safe Travel website’s for information specific to the country(s) you will be travelling to

  • Make sure you get adequate travel health insurance for all the activities you plan
  • Pack a first aid kit, including a sterile kit of emergency equipment if you are going somewhere remote
  • Make sure that you have an adequate supply of your prescription medications
  • Have you checked with the airport and airline for any restrictions they may have on travelling with medicines or administration devices
  • Have you had a recent dental and medical check up?
  • Locate nearby healthcare services for any emergency
  • Make sure whether a pre-departure Covid-19 test is required

 

WHAT TO PACK IN YOUR FIRST AID KIT

  • Alcohol-based hand rub
  • Analgesics/antipyretics
  • Antidiarrheal medication (eg. Loperamide)
  • Antifungal cream
  • Antiseptic cream and cleanser
  • Bite and burns cream
  • Decongestant or saline nasal spray
  • Dressings and bandages
  • Ear plugs for in-flight use (eg. Ear Planes)
  • Insect repellent
  • Mild steroid cream
  • Motion sickness medication
  • Rehydration salts
  • Scissors and safety pins
  • Sunscreen
  • Tape
  • Thermometer
  • Water purification tablets

 

WHAT WILL HAPPEN NEXT?

  1. Complete the Pre-Travel Questionnaire (please complete one questionnaire per person travelling)
  2. One of our team will be in contact within 5 business days to review your information and to organize an appointment for your vaccinations
  3. Pre-pay for your consultation and required vaccinations (Bank Details: 03-0767-0036754-000)
  4. Arrive for your vaccination appointment (please be aware you will have to wait 20 minutes post vaccination)
  5. Enjoy your travel overseas
