The COVID-19 Pandemic has changed the way we operate, and it is important that you understand how these changes could affect your appointment.

APPOINTMENTS:

Appointments at Burwood Health are still available via:

  • Face-to-Face (this can include a carpark consultation if you are exhibiting any signs of COVID-19 or a respiratory illness)
  • Telephone
  • Video Consultation

Our team are continuously improving the services that we offer, however, during this time, we ask that you please be patient as we attend a higher demand of appointment requests.

ARRIVING FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT:

  • If you do not have any respiratory symptoms at the time of your appointment you are welcome to come into reception to wait for your appointment.  We require that all patients in the waiting room must wear a mask at all times.  If you or someone who is attending the appointment with you (including children unable to wear a mask or people with mask exemptions) we ask that you please wait in your car and contact reception on 03 383 0219.

  • If you are unwell at the time of your appointment with any respiratory symptoms, including sore throat, cough, runny nose, aches and pains or fevers, please do not enter the practice.  Please complete a Rapid Antigen Test within 6 hours of your appointment.  If your test is negative, wait in your vehicle when you arrive and phone reception.  If your RAT test is Positive, please contact the practice PRIOR to your appointment time to be triaged further by our team. If you do not have any of these tests available, please notify reception.

MASKS ARE ESSENTIAL:

It is a requirement of entry to Burwood Health that all staff and patients (including children) wear a mask.

If you, or anyone you are attending an appointment with, are unable to wear a mask or have a Mask Exemption, we ask that you please return to your vehicle and call our reception staff on 03 383 0219 to advise you have arrived.

We will notify you when you are ready to be seen.

SOCIAL DISTANCING:

Burwood Health is continuing to ensure the ongoing safety of patients and their families as well as our staff.  We are ensuring social distancing rules are adhered to for patients when they are inside the practice.

As per Government guidelines, each person (unless they are together for an appointment) must ensure 1 to 1.5m distancing from other patients in the waiting area.

Unfortunately, in some instances the practice is unable to implement the social distancing requirements and you may be asked to please wait in your car.

We apologize for this inconvenience, however, we are trying to keep everyone safe.

PAYMENT FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT:

If your appointment was a telephone or video consultation, or you were seen by our clinical team in the carpark payment will still be required for your appointment.  An invoice for your consultation will be text or emailed to you.

If you have been seen in the carpark, please do not enter the building to pay for your appointment.  If you are unable to make payment online, please advise our reception team and we will discuss other payment options with you.
